SACCO Loan Calculator Kenya

Estimate SACCO loan eligibility from your deposits, multiplier and requested amount, then calculate monthly repayment and total interest.

How eligibility works

Many SACCOs estimate borrowing power as a multiple of member deposits or shares. Actual approval may also depend on guarantors, income, credit checks, and SASRA guidelines.

What to confirm with your SACCO

Confirm whether the SACCO uses reducing balance or flat rate interest, and ask about guarantor cover, insurance, processing fees, and early repayment terms.

Quick Answers

SACCO Loan FAQs

How does the SACCO deposit multiplier work in Kenya?

Most licensed Kenyan SACCOs (regulated by SASRA) allow members to borrow between 3 to 5 times their non-withdrawable savings deposits (e.g., KSh 300,000 in deposits allows up to KSh 900,000 to KSh 1,500,000 loan eligibility).

Why are SACCO loans often cheaper than bank loans?

SACCO loans typically offer lower interest rates (often 12% per annum on reducing balance or 1% per month) with fewer hidden fees, and interest paid by members contributes toward annual dividend rebates distributed at the end of the financial year.
